Who is Maureen McLean?
Maureen McLean is a student at Rochester Institute of Technology studying New Media Design. She graduated from the Marine Academy of Science and Technology located in Sandy Hook, New Jersey in 2018. The vocational school focused on marine science and engineering, prompting Maureen to continue in STEM after graduation. She started her higher education studying Environmental Sustainability, Health and Safety in Rochester. Then, she spent a year studying Fine Art before finally landing on New Media Design. She is also studying Web Design and Development as a minor. She hopes to combine all of her knowledge in her work.
McLean loves to listen to music while she works, and will draw inspiration from her favorite songs for artwork.
“I love the idea of combining audio and visuals… a.k.a. a music video.” she raved. Her dream job is to work for artists to design brands and videos.
McLean grew up in Matawan, New Jersey. She believes New Jersey is home to the best bagels and that central Jersey is real. She would also probably argue New Jersey is the best state. The beaches and forests fostered McLean’s love for nature and the environment from a young age.
Outside of class, Maureen enjoys painting, drawing, doing her makeup, petting cats, and long walks on the beach at sunset. She also enjoys cheerleading and playing rugby or watching hockey.
“My mom, dad, two sisters, six cats, bunny, and snails love to watch the Rangers games together!” she said when asked what she might be doing on a night in. She also runs a page to post makeup looks she tries. You can follow her @madeupmaureen on Instagram.
